DERBYSHIRE LIMESTONE

The Peak District National Park covers a large area, mostly in Derbyshire, and is divided into two distinct geological areas – the Dark Peak and the Light Peak. The former is dominated by grey and brown gritstone, which extends over the wilder moorlands and high peaks of the park.

By contrast, the Light Peak is situated in the lowland valleys and gorges and is distinguished by a much brighter series of limestones. We select these livelier lighter stones for our Terrazzo, colours that include light creams, honey yellows and golden browns.
